“I feel like every damn position is uncomfortable when I meditate!
I can’t find positions that will let me meditate for more than 5 minutes, I really just can’t stop moving about!
My toes bother me, my fingers bother me, my back hurts and everyday I have to stop because I find it so difficult to stay still.
Some days I feel like I did my best and most days I am consumed by my anger at myself, looking at my mom who mediates for 20+ minutes without moving I can’t help but feeling like a failure and my day is ruined instantly.
Everyone tells me meditation has all these benefits but it’s been stressing me out so much lately.
I know it’s probably my fault and I’m definitely doing something wrong so I would love to hear what you think about this?”
Celebrate the positive.
You are meditating for 5 minutes.
Find a comfortable position to meditate in.
The lotus position that is most commonly associated with meditation isn’t a requirement of meditation.
Try sitting in a comfortable chair which has head support and arm rests.
Try lying on your bed.
These meditation positions will allow your body and muscles to fully relax.
You will then be able to meditate for longer.
Everyone is unique and the length of time that we meditate for is not a measure of our success.
Meditate for as long as you feel is right for you.
