“Whenever I meditate, problems or painful thoughts always pop into my mind, or I just feel desperately restless and want to start doing something else.
Sometimes I’ll start thinking without realizing, and loads of minutes will pass before I remember I’m supposed to be meditating, watching my breathing and releasing my thoughts.
I do have ADHD, so maybe that makes it a bit more difficult?
It feels like so many people seem to enjoy meditating.
How long does it take to get to that point?
I don’t expect to be completely free from my thoughts, I know that’s impossible, but would like to get to that point where meditation is enjoyable for me and something that I look forward to.
Thanks in advance.”
Meditation gives your mind space to think.
In life there will always be problems.
Meditating allows you to observe these problems without dwelling on them or getting emotionally involved with them and to find solutions to them.
When meditating try neutrally observing your thoughts, allow the unimportant to flow away and focus on the important thoughts.
Address them and resolve them.
Do this and meditation will feel less like something that you are supposed to be doing and feel more like something that you naturally want to do.
