“What exactly is it like to focus on the breath?
How do you tune out outside noises?
How do you stay seated on a floor comfortably without your legs going numb?”
Meditate somewhere calm and quiet to reduce outside noise.
If there is a low level of background noise you can try playing some calm music or nature sounds to help.
Focussing on your breath is useful for relaxing and starting your meditation.
Whilst meditating allow your thoughts to flow and pay attention to them.
The seated lotus position isn’t a requirement of meditation.
Try meditating lying down or sitting in a reclined chair to prevent your legs going numb and to be comfortable.
