How do I find the right meditation practice for me?

“I’ve been meditating for a couple days and have been enjoying it so far.

The guided videos and resources usually say something along the lines of practice is crucial.

Practice probably isn’t switching from youtube video to youtube video of different types of meditations like I am doing, so I am looking for a practice that I can learn and repeat consistently on my own to hopefully experience the full scope of it.

I enjoy the mindfulness of focussing on my breathing specifically and was wondering if there was a reliable resource I could learn about different “forms” of breathing and choose the one that’s right for me based to help my reasons for meditation like depression, focus, energy boost, improved cognitive function and greater control over my thoughts among other things.”

Regular practice is important.

Meditating daily gives you the benefits of meditation.

There are many types of meditation and at their roots they are all based on similar principles.

Try meditating for 3 minutes in the morning when you wake up and 3 minutes in the evening before you sleep.

Lying down or sitting on a reclined chair.

Slow your breathing and fully relax your whole body.

Allow your thoughts to flow and pay attention to the important thoughts.

Do this for 30 days and see how you feel.
