“I’ve recently started meditating.
I’ve been mediating for around 2 weeks .
Discovering that I can’t meditate without falling completely asleep.
Expecting to be able to go into a relaxing mind state but now I nod off completely and it ruins my day as I can’t sleep the night ahead.
Why could this be?”
Your body needs sleep.
Quality and quantity of sleep are important.
12 hours of poor quality sleep won’t be enough whereas 8 hours of high quality sleep will be.
If you’re falling asleep your body needs more sleep and is taking every and any opportunity to get that sleep.
A good way to check if you are getting enough sleep is if you need an alarm to wake up.
If you do need an alarm, you are not getting enough sleep.
If you wake naturally, you are getting enough sleep.
Get more sleep and you will find that you remain awake during your meditation.
