Is meditation just practice at being bored?

“Sorry if my question is stupid but I’ve never genuinely tried or been interested in meditating but I am pretty desperate in regards to being healthier.

I know my biggest problem is simply boredom.

Too many groundhog days in a row.

I want to try meditating but I can’t imagine anything more boring than meditation therefore I came to the conclusion that meditation is just practice at doing nothing?

I am finally willing to try it, I guess.”

It appears that you are living your life reactively.

If your brain is used to being passively entertained all the time it’s easy to feel bored the moment that you are not being entertained.

Try living your life proactively.

Meditation can help you discover who you are and what you want in life.

Listen to your thoughts as you meditate.

Pay attention to the important thoughts, address them directly and resolve them.

Meditation may look like doing nothing, it’s actually the complete opposite.
