“I have just started meditating and am seeing a change but sometimes I get aches in my lower back and my knees and it disrupts me so much that I start moving around trying to figure out how to sit in a position that allows me to just be.
I have tried ignoring it or focussing onto it and observing it.
It’s still there, will this go away with time?
What advice would you give for posture?
Surely I’m not the only one struggling with this.
For context I sit on a cushion and fold it in half which makes me more elevated, are there any stretches that can help feel less achy?”
Try meditating in different positions.
The seated lotus position is often used but isn’t a requirement of meditation.
Many people meditate lying down.
You can try meditating lying on your bed or on the floor with a pillow for your head.
When meditating in a lying down position you can fully relax all your muscles and your entire body which will deepen your meditation.
