Meditation for anxiety?

“Hello there, I have been reading your website for a few months now and I am interested in becoming a beginner meditator.

I was reading comments on a forum just now, and was reading a reply from someone describing how they meditate throughout the day, even in public during annoying situations.

My understanding is that, that level of meditation is more ‘advanced’, and will require lots of practice.

However, I’m wondering, once I start meditating, are there any exercises I can practice, that could, in time, be useful during stressful times, even in public?”

Breathing.

Breathe through your nose.

Breathe using your diaphragm.

Breathe slowly.

Breathing like this is a signal to your whole body of being calm and relaxed.

This signal to your whole body happens automatically, all you do is the breathing and you will automatically feel calmer and more relaxed.

As a beginner at meditation you can learn the basics of meditation then progress to meditating whenever and where-ever you want.

Having a meditation mindset allows you to do this and you can apply this in any situation.

For now, focus on meditating regularly and breathing.

When you are comfortable with these try progressing further.
