How to focus on breath and be mindful?

“I’m new to meditations and am a little confused with how to focus on the breath while being aware of everything else.

How can I be mindful if I’m so focused on my breath?

I feel like I’m missing a crucial step and don’t want to meditate myself into dullness!”

Focussing only on your breath helps to relax but isn’t the only way to meditate.

If you feel that you’re missing a crucial step you can try a different way of meditating.

Try allowing your thoughts and emotions to flow freely whilst you meditate rather than focussing on your breath.

Meditating in this way gives your mind the time and space it needs to make sense of everything.

Try this for a few weeks and you will see the difference.
