Just tried meditating for the first time

“Never attempted to meditate before.

I’m somewhat of a spiritual person, but far from being a ‘hippie’ we’ll say.

I looked up meditation basics, tried to orient myself properly, found a fairly comfortable position sitting up, and practiced the count ten breaths technique.

I was able to relax my body enough to where I almost couldn’t feel my body at all.

Nothing was moving so there was no sensation of it, if that makes sense.

Is this normal?

I wasn’t falling asleep because I was fully aware of what was happening.

I could be doing all of this wrong, but I’d be willing to give it another go.

It was an interesting first experience to say the least.”

Yes, this is normal and great that you can fully relax!

When you meditate, your body is fully relaxed and this can feel like what you described.

Your focus shifts to your mind, your thoughts and your emotions.

This can change how you feel about your body and physical presence.

Keep meditating and you will discover more.
