Is there a difference between guided and non-guided meditation?

“I’m fairly new to meditating, but would like to start doing it more consistently.

I find meditating really enjoyable, peaceful and rejuvenating.

For all the times I’ve meditated so far I have used a guided meditation on YouTube.

I’m wondering if there are other methods and I’m assuming that would take more self-discipline?

I’m wondering if there’s any difference between the two such as a difference in depth of meditation or results?”

Meditating without guidance can be easy and rewarding.

Guided meditation is like driving round a race track, your mind is on a fixed path.

Meditating without guidance is like driving on the open road, your mind is completely free to go where-ever it wants to.

Each has it’s own advantages and disadvantages.

Overall, meditating without guidance allows a much greater depth of meditation and for far greater results.
