“As someone new to meditation, I have so many questions!
The biggest one is: Does meditation really change a person emotionally?
I’ve been researching meditation and have read a lot of articles with scientific references saying it does, but I want to hear from a meditation expert who has actually experienced it.
So, I’m asking have you noticed any emotional changes after meditating for a long time?
Does meditation help with anxiety or reacting less to negative situations?”
Yes, there are positive emotional changes after meditating for a long time.
Meditation helps significantly with anxiety and reacting less to negative situations.
As a beginner, meditating can make you more aware of your emotions.
This is good as it is the first step towards being in control of yourself when experiencing emotions.
But this new awareness of emotions may feel uncomfortable at first if those emotions are negative.
This awareness of emotions allows reflection on where emotions come from and why they are happening.
This leads to the ability to remain calm and clear when experiencing strong emotions.
When you are calm and clear there is anxiety vanishes and negative situations are easier to deal with.
We all experience emotions and always will, emotions are part of being human.
Meditating gives you the ability to remain calm and clear when emotions arise.
