“I always find myself making excuses.
I’ll meditate later, I’ll meditate tonight, I’ll meditate before going to sleep, I’ll meditate tomorrow.
A couple of years ago I used to meditate daily and my mental health improved so much.
I was chilled af.
Now I don’t seem to have the patience even though I know it’s so beneficial.
Why is this?”
The most common cause is that life becomes gradually busier over time with more and more responsibilities.
This gradual change can go unnoticed until one day you stop, take a step back and actually think about your life now versus your life before.
This inevitably leads to prioritizing our many other important responsibilities over meditation.
It can be difficult to find time to meditate when your to do list has a million things on it.
If this is what’s happening, there’s a couple of things you can do.
Firstly, streamline your life.
Create time.
Reduce the things you have to do and get the things you do have to do done in the least amount of time.
Secondly, make meditation part of your normal day.
Brushing your teeth, getting dressed, eating breakfast, etc are all things that we do every day.
Add meditation to the list of what you do every day.
Add a few minutes at the start and end of your day to meditate.
Short meditation daily has huge benefits and it is easier to commit to meditating for 3 minutes rather than for 30 minutes.
