“Like many things that I did this year to self improve myself I had to go through some trial and error, one of those things was regarding meditation, I was always a person prone to anxiety and irritability so meditation felt very appealing.
I need to follow structure and guide lines, so I tried meditating in the classic lotus position and that had mixed results.
Most of the time I felt feet numbness, wanting to move my legs, to change the position, to look around and got easily distracted, so despite meditating for 10 minutes I felt like only 2 or 3 minutes were useful.
3 days ago I tried a different way by lying down on the ground (if I meditate on my bed I will sleep).
On the ground I don’t fell numbness, don’t feel the need to move around, and the somewhat uncomfortable position helps me focus more on my breathing and relax.
Is it OK to meditate lying on the ground?
Will I get back pains from meditating like this?”
Yes, you can meditate lying on the floor.
You can use a yoga mat or blanket to make it more comfortable.
You shouldn’t experience any back pain from this.
Keep meditating like this if it helps with your breathing and to relax.
